The Senior Squad have a week of pre-season training under their belts now and there has been a good turnout to date. There has been very positive feedback from the players in relation to the structure and intensity of the sessions.
Fixtures for the forthcoming season have not been confirmed by the AIL/Ulster Branch yet but we have an exciting build up to the new season planned with a pre-season friendly arranged against Ballyclare RFC on Saturday 12 August 2017 at Pirrie Park (Methody's pitches off Ardenlee Avenue); KO is scheduled for 2.00 pm. The pre-season friendly formats consist of 4 x 20 minute sessions with rolling subs - the respective teams aim to utilise squads of c. 30 players each.
This fixture is followed by a trip to Greystones on 19 August 2017 for a similarly formatted pre-season friendly and this will provide the squad with another opportunity to try out combinations and give everyone an opportunity to gain some important match fitness.
All support at both venues is most welcome.
